Strangest Mac bug in a long time - gone but unresolved
#1
I was using this MBPR running updated ML, when suddenly the machine stopped reading the clicker on the trackpad.

I could move the cursor around but could not click on any object.

This repeated on several reboots, even booting into the recovery partition.

I then grabbed my external magic mouse (hooked via bluetooth), and that worked fine to click on objects.

Suddenly, my MBPR's trackpad started working, too.

Very odd - I sure hope the Gremlin was just visiting and doesn't want to stay!

Do you have it setup so that a tap registers as a click, or you really have to click?

This used to happen with older MacBooks and MacBook Pros when the battery swelled

I hope that's not the case here - this machine is less than a year old.

Then you have warranty. Good time for it to happen.

I'm running ML and constantly have strange things happen. Right now I constantly get a window saying I have not unplugged properly. I have not used anything external to unplug! strange things pop up constantly with ML. Like it has a life of its own.
