Last OS for iBook G4

i have an iBook G4/1.33 12" that has been gathering dust in my office. I'm thinking of giving it to my son to sell on craigslist for pocket money. what is the last OS that will run on this? It currently has 10.4.11. (512MB ram.)

i did try googling this but my google fu is weak today.

It could run 10.5, if it's above an 867 Mhz CPU, but with 512MB of RAM, I'd stick with 10.4.

10.4.11 will be the best with only 512MB. I have a iBook G4/1.25 with 1.25GB RAM and it runs 10.5.8 quite well, but it needs that extra RAM.

Ditto to the Tiger will run best with that amount of RAM crowd. Leopard will run quite well with 1.5GB, but don't bother putting any money into it. What's the iBook worth, maybe $100?

If it's this one, http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ib...33_12.html , the maximum OS that can be installed is 10.5.8, according to the site.

some on craigslist have them as high as $175 but i think they are dreamers; $100 is probably the move it sweet spot.

A couple years ago, I sold a last gen 12" iBook G4 with 1.5GB RAM, mini VGA dongle (thanks $tevie for the dongle!), and battery that lasted about 3 hours for $225ish.

$175 seems high. Shoot, your son could try $150 and settle on $100.
