suggestions for a Wedding gift?
#1
a colleague of mine is getting married. I have not decided if I go. We were closed buddies a few years ago but now we are not so close anymore (different work attitude, some conflicting interests, etc). If I go, what should I get him? I really have no idea. I got an invitation and a link to a web site with details about the wedding but there seems to be no registry.

I need some guidance regarding value of gifts. PM is fine if you don't want to post. Maybe I get them a gift card and let them buy what they want, rather than some appliance they will never use or some china they will break. BTW: I know him quite well, he is into cars and stuff like that but I know very little about her.

Space,

Can't answer without additional info. Age? Living together? Previously married? Own his own home? How much do you want to spend?

There's nothing wrong with a good set of sheets as a wedding gift: 100% cotton, relatively high thread count, and white so they match (or at least don't clash with) any decor. Everyone needs an extra set of sheets, and unlike the classic useless wedding gift of the 1970s, the fondue set, a nice set of sheets will actually see some use. The only question is which size bed do they have.

I agree with Thrift Store Scott. Give 'em a fondue set.
