Funny, I didn't see the thread as political at all.

Anyway, to keep things here:

Enders Game is a terrific book, and its sequel Speaker for the Dead hold a record - the only original and sequel to both win the Hugo and Nebula awards.

If you want to learn more about the author, go to the thread on the other side.

My family has read the entire 'Ender Game' series of books, including those focused on Bean. They are an ok read.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book... the second book, less so. The self loathing of Ender got a little tired. Not that I didn't understand his motivations, just that it got tiresome.

Oddly enough, I had the same complaint about another series of books that I also thoroughly enjoyed - but thought the main character dwelt on feeling sorry for himself too much: The Seafort Saga by David Feintuch.
