Ka,
Trust me. It isn't just the subway. I left my building (here on Long Island) to walk to the supermarket and pharmacy and after a few steps outside decided the errant wasn't nearly urgent enough that it couldn't wait until tomorrow. I could swim through the air and it was about to start spritzeling any second and, once I was halfway to the market, make an instant switch to a downpour. No doubt being in the subway would make the situation was in all the worse. Blech! Robert

Probably could have done without that descriptive mental picture... But then, I suppose I really have no room to complain given your subject line. It was a reasonable indicator of what may lie ahead.
Go home. Cold shower. You'll feel better.

I remember one time in Chicago taking the subway to a Cubs game at Wrigley field. It was about 90°. Got on in downtown and every stop more and more people got on. By the last stop before the ballpark, we were so tight you could barely breath and the air felt more like gravy.

You have the same air that was here in the Midwest. I literally walked out the door and moved a stake for a tree and was drenched in sweat. 100% dripping humidity with over 100 heat index.

Swimming through spritzeling gravy mucus.

I just made a short trip across town to take advantage of a half off sale at a nursery, and made it a point to stop and stand in the sun several times.... couldn't take the cold air blasting on the bus.
Carrying a small towel to manage sweat makes a gigantic difference in your comfort.

"So disgusting down here" -- where is that?
What my morning drive DJs like to say about people from NY -- "Its like theres only 2 places on the planet to them -- "new york" and "the rest of the world"..." :boink:
