Goddess of fertility. Hmmmm. Woulda made a good name for a rabbit.

I still miss my little Jody that I had when I was 9. Had her in a tall box in the garage til we could get a cage for her. Went out to feed her one morning, but she was gone.

They are sweet little animals, aren't they?

lost in space, what I like about it-- not just goddess of fertility and love, but ALSO... a battle goddess, and a witch. Pretty cool, eh? Gotta love Norse mythology. (I would have gone with "Aphrodite", which was Minty's suggestion, but that's a bit of a mouthful, and plus I wouldn't want to have been using "Aphro" as a nickname...)

Also because she's grey and white, with sort of long, flowing hair/fur, that seemed to fit better with a Northern-region goddess. (Athena would have also fit, considering that she was supposed to have been grey-eyed.)

Yes, they are great little animals. Surprisingly intelligent; they have a reputation for being dumb, but not true... they're not so much dumb as timid (at least, usually... one of mine is as social as a dog). Not surprising that yours got out-- hamsters and other rodents are notorious cage-breakers. If they cannot chew their way out, they find other ways of getting out.

Minty, it was a darned good suggestion, and obviously I considered it VERY seriously, as I ended up taking essentially the Norse equivalent...
