Any current printers work with OS 9?
#1
I have a client who needs to purchase a new printer to use with OS 9. Anyone know if such a beast is available?

EDIT: Should have mentioned they need an inexpensive ink jet.

My Canon IP4000n works great with OS9 as well as X , the IP 5000 also works in 9 IIRC.

Thanks, Ken. I saw those on Canon's website; unfortunately, they no longer seem to be available.

they need to look on craigslist for an Epson SC 740, or the likes.

Screw Epson.

(Not that I don't appreciate your input -- thanks.)

hey, you are the one with a customer who wants a new printer, that isn't Epson, and is under $50 and has native OS 9 drivers.

I figure ANY printer you can find that is in good used shape under $50 that has native OS 9 drivers fits the bill.

Gotta be someone who does DTP and has some very expensive OS 8/9 only software, and doesn't want to enter the 21st century.

Well, that rules out 90% of your options.

Look for a Canon i560. They often run under $100 dollars nowadays. I don't know that they work WELL but there's an OS 9 driver.

[Edit] Yeah, I know it's supposed to be under $50 bucks, but your choices are limited.

No, they're just folks who have to stretch every dollar. They're planning to move to a Mac mini soon, but it's not in the cards just now.
