iBoob. Big Grin

At least, that's what I remember them being called. My work institution is clearing out old equipment, and I snagged this before it hits the e-cycler. I don't know if it's useful for anything, but it's one of the few models that I'd never seen up close, so I figured I'd take it just in case. If it's useless, I can always put it back for the cleanout.

P.S. ... I did check, and it does successfully boot up, though I noticed quite a few pressure marks on the screen image. I suppose I could massage those out. Ah oui, the iBoob, there are just so many easy double-entendres! (Big Grin

I'm not sure if I know what model of Mac you are referring to at the moment. G4 iMac? G3 iMac maybe? Not sure either look like a boob exactly. Then again, how do we know Peter isn't an alien, and if so, who's to say Alien boobs look the same as human boobs. Eh?

Oh sorry. This was, I guess, also referred to as an "iLamp":

Edit: too bad none of these can run SL. I guess you'd want at least the 1Ghz, so as to be able to officially run Leopard, though frankly between Leopard and Tiger, I'd probably still choose Tiger.

Tiger is easier on the system for sure, but I had a dual 450 G4 with either 1.25GB or 1.5GB of memory that ran Leopard pretty well. Even with the stock GPU. 1.33 GHz 14" iBook with 1.25 GB RAM likewise could handle Leopard with ease.

Some app suggestions.
TenFourFox for browsing on 10.4 or 10.5
MacTubes for Youtube viewing on 10.4 or 10.5.
Adium for chat, older versions available for 10.4 or 10.5.
Boxer for DOS games, requires 10.5.

I've never heard of it being called an iBoob. ILamp, Sunflower, yes. But never iBoob.

For some people, every half sphere is a boobie.
