Seamless upgrade. Faster performance compared to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, thus far. Indeed, I must relearn my way around this new GUI. Overall, sofar so good. Now let's me get back to fooling around with my Mac Mavericks

Do wash your hands carefully and sanitize your mouse and keyboard . You don't want any Windows to affect your Mac ?

Be aware if you're "upgrading" from 7 Ultimate that you get to pay extra for the Media Center package in Win8.

Some things are faster, some are slower. Some of the speed is having a fresh clean OS. I have been using a Lenovo Win8 laptop that boots to the desktop in about 20 seconds, but it won't do let me do anything for another 2 minutes until all the bloatware finishes loading. Wake is very fast.
Copying a few 100 MB files to a drive that needs defragging is like pouring molasses on a -20 F day. It can take 20-30 seconds for everything to complete and I am sure it is safe to disconnect the flash drive. I am tempted to start using the command line for things like this.
