Anyone have damage from the storms?
#1
Seen all the damage in Illinois and other places. The line is moving east-keep an eye to the sky, cbelt... The line went thru here with some torrential rain and wind. A western Detroit suburb reported a 70 mph gust and the High Wind Warning for gusts up to 60 mph overnight and 45 mph tomorrow.
Got lots of gas for the generator...

Gee, I was just writing to see how y'all survived, but lost my network connection.

Looks like we are soon going to get a pretty serious wrap-around storm.

It was no picnic driving in the middle of the storm, though it went better than expected. Saw two cars in the ditch along the way. We still have power and only small branches came down.

Battle Creek airport also reported 70 mph winds.

All is well in my neck of the woods (N side of Chicago.) Was dark and scary and windy and loud, but no damage or power lost in my immediate area as far as I know.

Did you lose anything off your balcony?

Have been out all day and just now settling in to see what happened in other places. Was a bit freaked out by the gusts and exhausted after riding all the way home into a crazy headwind, but otherwise not affected personally that I know of. I missed the worst part of the downpour early afternoon by about 10 minutes.

I can't believe it, but no. I was most worried about the smaller railing piece. Here's a pic I took when they dropped off the bigger railing. If you look on the left, you can see a bit of the rope they used to tie it to the handle on my balcony door. The smaller railing isn't pictured, but it was apparently protected because it is still sitting at the base of that small wall.

Got some heavy rain here near Louisville, KY but none of the strong winds that were possible. In fact, based on the neighbors leaves that did NOT blow into my yard that I cleaned on Saturday, we had little wind at all.

Nearly full moon and a very bright Venus are in the sky now.

The wind is really kicking up now. BlackJack hightailed it in the house when I opened the door. He decided it was safer indoors, I think...
Official wind gust so far of 41 mph but just a few miles west of here a 60 mph gust was reported.
