Neither Darren deserved Samantha
#1
Weasily jerks kowtowing to the implacable greed of the spineless Larry Tate (only Milburn Drysdale was comparably ineffectual, self-obsessed and insufferably greedy). This smokin' hot, intelligent blond spent way too much energy dodging Darren's soul-crushing demand that she constantly bottle up her dazzling magical powers just so that he could play house. Endora and Serena couldn't ever budge Sam from capitulating to this chauvinist pig of a double man. It wasn't enough to stifle her, he had to put the kibosh on EVERYBODY'S powers, even Tabitha's. Only when Larry and Darren royally fouled up an ad campaign, was Samantha "allowed" to bend the rules to bail their feeble jackasses out of the fire. Endora should have just killed him. But Sam begged her to back off all the time, so she could only turn him into different creatures the reverse of which often required the services of "real man" thrill seeking, living life to the fullest, the esteemed Dr. Bombay who was "always" in the midst of a great and exciting adventure. Sam would call for him in shame. "Emergency, come right away." tsk.

And I haven't even started on the bombshell Jeannie, who's explosive magical powers were always being held in check by the brown nosing Anthony Nelson lest she be forced to endure being bottled up as punishment despite the fact that she could instantly destroy him. She's always having to fight off the leers of Major Healy while Tony spent an inordinate amount of time trying to please the hack Psychology of Dr. Bellows and his constant suspicions. Every other man in Cocoa Beach would be thrilled with this loving super siren that could grant you the most sumptuous life without you having to do a stitch of work.

Somebody had to say it.

I forgot my cisco router's password and this problem bothers me for a long time. I want to find an easy way to reset password. Any thoughts ?

Either of these women could handle this problem with the twitch of the nose or a blink of the eye.

I see a Ginger/Mary Ann argument evolving from this.

Jeannie :emoticon_love:

It was a different time. Although in parts of the country nothing has changed.

Thank you for saying that. These women were my role models. How different my life could have been!

Samantha was very manipulative. In the first episode, it was she who insisted that she would not practice magic while Darren attempted to embrace her heritage. At first, he welcomed her mother (who stalked him invisibly), but over time he learned to be wary. Every time that he tried to please her, he was subjected to mixed messages. When he tried to teach Sam how to drive, for example, after she begged him to instruct her she berated him as a patronizing brute for simply telling her how to put the car into gear and step on the pedal. Watching the whole thing from the beginning, it's hard not to see Darren as the tortured victim of spousal abuse and his twitchiness the natural paranoia of a dog that has been alternately kicked and petted for much of its life.

Now Anthony Nelson... He was just an idiot.

And how about Lucky Green's going to war? When the hell are they coming back?
