Long but worth it...they're also losing about a third of the band; seniors that are graduating.

They take their band VERY seriously.... The son of a colleague was #1 trumpet for the band while he was in Engineering school. Competition is fierce and endless. There are even band groupies...

And my Ohio high school band teacher used to "borrow" music that they did for our halftimes.
#1 wow...and managing engineering school! Go BUCKS!

I was in the "world's largest marching band" in college.... 540 players on the field. The biggest challenge was not colliding with another member....

Thanks for posting! That band has been amazing recently.

What were the two blue flags?

One was blue (North) and one was grey (South). They did look similar...
I imagine they use those rather than the real battle flags of each and get a uproar going about the Confederate stars and bars.

Great job! I love that stuff but unfortunately, I found it really difficult to watch (and listen to) the video because the audio was so bad.
They really needed some high mics on the field like these guys use: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XO9H2Hw8Sgw

They've fully explored the realm of stick figures and need something new to keep it fresh.
In their favor, however, it remains impressive that they put together a new show practically every week during the season. Yes, they have all year to put them together and practice, but they have very little time between actual performances to practice them once the season begins. They will always lose seniors, but they will continue to gain new strength through the next year's freshman class. (As long as music remains in schools, that is. Music programs, along with music teachers are definitely endangered species.) And the loss of senior musicians actually adds to the number next year for Homecoming.

It's too bad we can't watch the bands on game day, due to the talking heads flapping their lips.
