Went for a walk today, pictures

Went for a short walk today. Now I'm icing my back and resting. I did get a few good pictures though! The first is a picture of my step-father. Sorry, no pictures of me.

I live in Yakima, Washington State. It is central to the state and it is VERY dry with an annual rainfall of 6". This particular trail used to be a narrow gauge rail line and was converted to it's current use. There are seven very substantial bridges over the creek which provide for many picture opportunities. There is even a side trail leading to a winery. It's a real shining star for our city and I am a member of the organization that provides for it. We have another Yakimanian on the forum that might chip in with additional information.

I love the landscape in that part of WA and here in Spokane too, sculpted by the many great Missoula floods during ice ages.

Next time I will try to remember my camera. I have a canon powershot sx280 that I recently purchased. I'd love to have a big camera like the SX50 posted here frequently. Someday... :-)

A "big" camera like the SX50 is only worth it if you're shooting wildlife.

For normal daily type photography, you're better off with a fast camera like this.

I recently picked up this camera for $239 at Amazon.

The reality is that for normal day to day photography, you will never need anything longer than what a camera like this provides.

And you will have far superior images...

My desire for the SX50 is primarily for the zoom. I do not have the skill to properly use such a camera. The SX280 has 20x zoom and the SX50 has 50x zoom. Vavavoom!
