Stop Me. I'm (almost) buying a VW
#1
Somewhat close to signing on the dotted line for a 2014 GTI Drivers Edi VW. Hoping to roll some kind of extended (100,000?) warranty into the deal, plus they have cheap interest for 60 months.

Looking for a fun/fast car for this kind of money and not really coming up with anything else. Don't want a WRX, and can't even get a test drive in a Civic SI or etc. American cars like the Ford ST scare me because I really doubt the quality has improved.

Want something I can put kids in, also that offers some performance.

Go for it! A friend had a GTI and I once test drove a GTI. It's a fun car!

Sign on the dotted line pronto!

I think VW's problems are mostly with used cars, not new cars.

If you're looking for a fun car at a good price, check prices in your area on slightly used Infiniti G37s. I'm seeing them as low as $22,000 for three to four year old samples with less than 30,000 miles.

2010 VW Jetta was the best car I ever owned! VW pays the maintenance for the first 30K miles. The GTi will be a really fun car to drive.

As soon as your drive it off the lot, its used =)

So you arent going to wait a month for the 2015s? And you are getting a monster deal cause its a 2014? assuming its a 4 door, not a 2 door w/kids?

$30K?

not a car guy, but in the last 15 years, I've heard more complaints from VW owners than just about all of the rest combined.
