Lollapalooza Lineup-- what should I check out/study up on?
#1
I found out today I'll be attending all three days of the Lollapalooza festival (never been before except to volunteer for bike parking.)
The local paper has an article about the schedule today with what appears to be a click through with an uncaptioned photo of every band playing. Kind of fun to click through and see how many you can identify on sight:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainm...9415.story

Here are the ones I'm most excited about, designated by asterisks:

Name some current ones that you listen to today.

Pretty much just country and opera.
Seriously, see asterisks above. I worship great vocalists more than anything, so happy about Glen Hansard and James Mercer (Shins/Broken Bells.)

I feel at least 20 years older after looking at that list of artists.

I didn't think Broken Bells was touring (for some reason), and I HATE it when I find out they came to my city and I didn't hear about it. ****.

like the Arctic Monkeys a lot on record, but they don't quite bring it live.

White Denim is *great* live, however, much better than recorded.

I've heard good thinks about Lykke Li and actually heard a song of hers I like. it would be intresting to see Lorde, since she made a big splash lately.
I would go see Roadkill Ghost Choir just on the basis of their name (and probably be disappointed).

I've heard the names of twelve of them, but only heard the music of about four. Guess my coolness rating will be downgraded.
