MTV launched while I was in college, I never cared for it. The videos never matched the images the music created in my head.

It may have also had something to do with never liking pop music. I was the weird kid in high school during the 70's that listened Classical and Bebop (most of my classmates thought Charlie Park played for the Pittsburgh Pirates (they had spring training in my hometown)
