(I see we don't have a zombie smiley...?)

Myself, I'm thinking crossbow, but am not sure. The problem with a crossbow is that you'll eventually run out of arrows, and it's more or less useless in close quarters...

I'll take my 18" barreled AR, the two cans of ammo I have squirrel away... and give me 6-7 hours with my lathe and a generator, and I'll have a suppressor to quiet it down... Plus a .22 pistol, with suppressor.
I have enough .22 ammo to depopulate most of this county of zombies...

Put a new upper on that AR to allow it to fire .22LR and you've got the perfect zombie-killing weapon. Smile

Perhaps... but the .223 upper reaches out farther... and I have yet to see a .22 upper that feeds reliably!
I have LOTS of .22's for "up close".

I've got guns. Ammo. And grandpas cavalry saber. A sword never runs out of ammo.

I'm non-violent, I would let them eat me, or try to talk them out of it.

On the show Walking Dead they are always shooting the zombies with huge guns. I always thought they should just use .22's as there should be LOTS of .22 ammo around. Much quieter also.

As for my one item I'm gonna go with...a big solar panel. Combined with a battery bank it should (maybe) allow for the use of a refrigerator and freezer. That makes time management a bit easier as you don't have to hunt every darn day.
