... I'm running v3.3.3 of it, which is apparently the last version that can run under Tiger. Running it on a QS 1Ghz dual under 10.4.11. The video freezes up at some point after the app starts, sometimes sooner and sometimes later. Any suggestions?

What gets it going again? Could be dying hardware.
I had a bad one once briefly (the seller took it back) that got really hot (don't remember if it was similar symptoms otherwise.)

I will have to look at my setup when I get home. But I have not run into this problem with EyeTV on my G4 running 10.4. I do have to restart the G4 every so often to clear up an audio problem, the software loses connection to getting the audio from the USB attached EyeTV 250+ but still gets the video signal. But that usually takes a month or two to happen between reboots.

This happened to me a lot. I fixed this problem by making a change in the EyeTV preferences.
EyeTV Preferences... Sound --> Audio Output: Line Out
Choose "Line Out" instead of the default choice of System Sound Output.
The EyeTV was losing its audio every time I changed my system sound from Line Out to Headphones when it was on the System Sound Output choice. I think a bug in the EyeTV software didn't properly handle things when the System Output was changed. Once I changed it to always stay on Line Out, the recording has never lost the sound.

Every EyeTV product I've had (three or four?) has run hot.
Not warm, not very warm, but hot.
My 250+ is hot to the touch. Almost too hot to hold, but not quite. I'm thinking of placing a small AC equipment fan on it.

My two 250+ boxes just run warm. I did have one come in that ran hot, but it would flake out when fully warmed up. That was replaced under warranty.

My current EyeTVs (2 in service) run hot, and always have.

Hi everyone,
I do have a spare one, so I'll try swapping it out to see if it's a hardware problem.
To answer Black's question: to get it going again, I have to quit out of the app and restart, but then the problem occurs again.
I know EyeTV can be flaky in general, so I'm also going to try a complete uninstall and then reinstall, and see if that makes any difference.
And yes, I've noticed that they generally run hot.
