Thought exercise for today: If you needed to make $10,000 profit in the space of 2 months, and you had $10,000 seed mone

Let's assume for the moment that you don't have to worry about any sort of income tax considerations. You start with $10,000, and you need to finish with $20,000 or more in 2 months.

Because each of our situations/skills/tools is unique, let's assume that you could use any of your existing tools/skills as part of the exercise, and you could learn/buy/borrow others starting on day 1 of that 2 month period.

How would you do it?

For me, options trading. Of course, it would be easier starting with $20K. I'm not sure I could still do it in that amount of time with $10K. I would have to be a little more aggressive than I like and setbacks, especially early, would really hurt when you're trying to double your money in a short time.

If your brave --- California Chrome to win. current 3:5 odds, so you get you'll either be broke or have $16,000 after the race. Now you only need to make $4,000 or $500 a week. Many standard jobs will get you there.

If your female and not shy -- an exotic dancer can often make a couple thousand a week. Lets just say $1500 -- after 8 weeks you would have $12,000 plus your untouched $10,000 - total $22,000

Haha. If you want to outright gamble, in addition to sports betting, you can just go to a casino. They say the house edge is lowest on Blackjack, Craps and video poker. But the house still has a small edge on those games (unlike the massive edge on slots and Roulette) and you're slightly more likely to lose money than you are to come out ahead. But if you get lucky, it only takes two winning $5000 bets on the Craps table. ;-)

But from what I have heard, if you want to make money gambling you need to play Poker--and to win you need to be the best player at the table.

let's make this easier: suppose you had 100k and wanted to make 10k in those 2 month. Any ideas?

no bets nor drugs.

"space of 2 months"

since when do we measure Time in Space? space-time is very concerned about this

Assuming I didn't have to pursue my "day job"...
I would start garage sale, antique store, junk shop, and thrift store trolling, evaluating, and reselling (eBay, etc).
But it would be VERY time consuming.

You're talking about a 100% profit margin...
If that was easy, we wouldn't be HERE talking to YOU! Smile

Summer's almost here so I'd open up a lemonade stand or two.

The Lemonade stand could work... as long as you staff it with strippers...
