Password Management
#1
Just heard a TV ad for a password management site. I have been nervous about using password management applications on both my Macs and my iOS gadgets. What would keep the programmers from including code that would send your password data to them? Same thing with web sites. I feel nervous enough keeping passwords in a database on my iMac.

What assurance do you have that it is not sending your information to the mother ship?

If 1Password was sending your data back the the mothership, it would have been discovered immediately. LOTS of people watch their web traffic very closely.

I wouldn't trust this job to any website unless it was run by a gigantic operation that has lots of experience with web security. And even then, I'd rather have 1Password.

What assurance is there for anything when you choose to interact with the universe?

I checked and saw that there is a Mac version and an iOS version. Do they interact with each other via iCloud or whatever?

You can turn on the firewall and block 1Password from sending and receiving any data if that makes you feel better.
