Warehouse 13
#1
I just watched the pilot for Warehouse 13. Now I remember how good the show was at the beginning and how bad it got at the end. I wish they had not kept Allison Scagliotti (Claudie) on. She was good for a few episodes but didn't really have what it takes. I have no idea why the added Aaron Ashmore (Jinx).

If I could re-write the show I would have made Eddie McClintock (Pete) the head of the warehouse. Joanne Kelly (Myka) was sexy and smart for the whole series.

I'm watching this on my mac so it IS mac related...sort of. haha.

Has the final season been released yet? I know that they planned to finish the show to tie up loose ends but it was an abbreviated season, similar to what they did for Eureka.

Cool. Maybe the will redeem themselves (for me). I'm going to hold onto hope that Pete will end up the next caretaker.

If you like Joanne Kelly, have you seen her in Slings and Arrows? Second season, I believe – she was great as the actress who played Juliet (but then, everyone in that show was great).

Allison was quite good.

The real problem was the writing.

Aaron Ashmore was bad in Smallville and not any better in Warehouse.

Kelly was bad. She showed no acting ability on that show. She had maybe two facial expressions, basically no range whatsoever.

But the writing was the real problem with the show. It didn't really know what it wanted to be.

Eddie McClintock (or the director) just didn't know when to flip the Goofball switch to OFF.

I liked various episodes and love Jaime Murray.

I think the show was an accidental success. It had tons of potential, but they didn't make use of it. Each episode could take place anywhere, feature characters that aren't recurring, and it left an easy way to write characters in/out of the story. It could travel in time, it could feature historical characters, in short...with better writing it could have been a variation of Doctor Who, but they missed the boat. Quite a shame really.

The early shows are pretty serious. It's the later ones that went off the rail with goofiness so I totally agree with you on that. I associate most of that to Claudie's character but you are right. The writing and directing was the root.

So totally agree with this...
Also, Claudia's character "setup" could have led into an OUTSTANDING character... but again, as ztirffritz says, they just didn't know what to do with her - and the opportunity was wasted.
Honestly, one of the best characters WAS H.G. (Jamie Murray).

The first season was pretty good. After that the goofiness took over and it was a waste.

As said earlier, great potential, none realized.

I think the lions share of the problem is, Warehouse 13 isn't wrestling or infomercials, so the overlords at SyFy have not the first dang clue what to do with it... :turbo:
