Is Windows inherently more vulnerable to malware attacks than OS X?

Yep. Tom has always been an Apple fan (note the "Property of Apple Computer" tat on the back of his neck ?), but his writings have made it obvious that he's a pro too.

What he is is incredibly annoyed that Apple continues to screw up when it comes to selling to the Enterprise client. They just don't understand how to , and continue to fail to do just that. Hell- Apple's marketing wonks seem to assume that the XServe will sell itself from the user level, which is incredibly foolish and naive.

At first I was about to call him a Mac fanboy... but after reading the lists, it's actually a pretty good article.

IIRC, Tom Yager is actually a fairly recent convert to Apple: he tried Xserve/Mac OS X Server at some point and was blown away by the features, security, and overall value of the product.

I kept on thinking that Apple wasn't trying very hard to sell to the enterprise market because they were waiting to get all their technological and product ducks in a row, but the more I read, the more I think the top Apple execs -- including the Leader himself -- view the enterprise market with indifference or downright disdain.

This blog is a pretty interesting look inside Apple from a sales perspective. The guy has an obvious axe to grind, but a lot of his thoughts appear to be very good explanations for why Apple markets -- or doesn't market -- the way it does.

what, elmo hasn't chimed in yet to spew his anti-Apple, pro-Windows venom? I'm shocked.

So where is the "receipts" folder that the author implores Mac users to backup?

/Library/Receipts

IIRC, only installers that use Apple's installer package system are capable of writing receipts. VISE installers and drag-and-drop won't do it.

The biggest problem with Windows is that they put backwards compatibility ahead of everything else. I have not doubt that if they put all of their software engineers into a room and said fix Windows...no holds barred...they could do it in short order. But their hands are tied by the backwards compatibility issue.
