How do you boot from a CD in Windows XP?

I want to try Ubuntu Desktop CD on my old Windows box.

Insert the CD and restart. If that doesn't work, make sure the CD-ROM is first in the boot order (check the BIOS.)

You need to enter the PCs BIOS and set the startup drive as the CD/DVD-ROM.

It might be F1 or F2 or the delete key.

Restart the PC and hit the appropriate key to enter the BIOS setup. Set the Boot Sequence to boot from the CD first.
