There were some problems getting a $100 rebate on the MacBook I purchased from Amazon a couple months ago. So I phoned them, and got some woman in customer service who researched the issue, and then re-applied the rebate while I was on the phone.
She emailed me personally this morning, saying that there was a problem with that re-applied rebate, but that she had run it through again, and this time it worked. For the frustration, she gave a $20 certificate.
I love it when a company gets how to completely assuage any issue.
Greetings from xxx at Amazon.com.
I apologize that it has taken so long for me to get back to you on
your rebate.
I have had to resubmit your rebate as there was a problem with the
first submission. The time line on receiving your check is 4-6
weeks. If you do not receive your check in 6 weeks please call us so
that we may investigate further.
Once again, I apologize that this has happened and thank you for
your patience in this matter. For all the frustration, I have
applied a $20.00 promotional certificate to your account. This will
automatically apply to your next Amazon.com order.
