Got back up to the cottage last weekend. It was fairly warm especially relative to the past few weeks; temps were in the 20s! There was almost no critter activity, tho, and a saw only a few crows and blue jays with some deer tracks. Everything is still under the snow sleeping after another record cold Winter.
So only four pix. We did get out on our xcountry skis. Here is my wife out on the lake. Quiet. No ice fishers, maybe because the ice is about at least a foot thick, maybe more, according to cashier at the local store. There is also about a foot of snow.

Sun is getting higher in the sky and it was crystal clear but it was still only in the mid 20s with a good breeze blowing. Here's some of the patterns on the ice. There is something interesting about this image. See if anyone can spot it:

The water plants in Winter:

And a pano of the lake looking east:

Wanted to get some night sky pix but it was just too cold. Temps were zero to a few degrees below. I liked sitting by the fire with my Ridge zinfandel...
Thx for looking in.
