An Up North pic with a twist
#1

This is the view off our porch at our cottage looking toward the lake. I've posted similar pix before but this one has a difference. I shot it with my Canon 5D Mk. II but the lens is a Nikon Nikkor 24mm f2.8 that I bought eons ago.
I came across someone shooting with a similar setup and since I have a bunch of old Nikon lenses but have used them only occasionally, I thought I'd look into an adapter. After getting some good info from pRICE, I got some costs for adapters and was going to buy one from B&H for $60 but I thought I'd go the manufacturers website and surprise! They were selling it for $16!
I haven't gotten to testing it thoroughly yet but it's nice to give some new life to those ancient non-auto focusing chunks of glass.
The light meter works just fine and I have to open the lens first, focus, then stop down but nothing I didn't do way back then.
Will report back when I do more testing. It is a brand called Fotodiox and I bought the Nikon-EOS adapter.
I have a few prime Nikkors to work with, the oldest being a 35mm f2 that I used as my normal lens. I bought that with the Nikon F I bought in 1970.

Why is there a large orange fish in the center of the picture? :S

Is that a large gold fish in the bottom center of the pic?

It's a flying fish, of course...
Got it at a garage sale and cleaned it up and painted it with copper metallic. It's above the path down to the water.

If it's a flying fish then why did it leave tracks?

Looks like it's resting in the snow. Like a fish out of water. . .

It's 8 feet above the path. Strung with stainless wire between twin pines.

Hey.. that's NICE ! Gives me reason to try out the adapter I bought for my late father's 1970's Nikkor glass...
