Lollapalooza 2015 lineup announced today. Bet you've heard of at least one of these bands.

I think I'm running about 5% on recognition this year.... and I'm not 100% sure that's it's me and not the lineup.

I'm probably at less than 5%. I only found half a dozen bands I had even heard of.

I've not heard of a lot of them. But there are enough of them that it would be enjoyable. I wouldn't miss the headliners (15 to 20 bands/artists) plus Elle King/James Bay (I'll be seeing them together in May anyway), Tove Lo, Charli XCX etc.

What's Sturgill Simpson doing in there? He's country.

Honestly - how do that many bands get stage time? What a f*in mess.

Quality over quantity should be the goal.

DJ Supersoak (Jason Sudeikis), Lil Blaster (Nasim Pedrad) and MC George Castanza (Jay Pharoah) invite you to the sweet-ass Columbus Day Assblast music festival. Come for the bands, stay for Eckhart Tolle (Ben Stiller). [Season 37, 2011]

Yeah, kind of a mess. It would take a month to listen to a CD from all the bands I never heard of to see if I liked half of them.

Well, things happen concurrently in different parts of the grounds, so once you've planned out who you intend to see there aren't quite as many that need pre-educating on. Sometimes the schedule and stage locations make the choice for you. Good opportunity to get to know some new stuff though.

I only recognize a few, and theres only one I could name multiple songs of (kid cudi). It's odd how as you get older you kind of get opted out of culture whether you mean to or not. kj.
