Today is my last day of teaching. Hanging up the dry erase markers after 51 years of teaching; 2 years in the Peace Corps in Nigeria, 36 years in a high school in NJ and 13 years at a college in NC. My calendar is filling up with good stuff already. They'll be volunteer stuff, travel and hiking in the mountains of NC. It's been a great ride.

Congrats!!! I'm only on day 4 so it still feels like just a few days off. Have not even gotten much of a start on my to-do list. But it's all good! Enjoy!

If I'd gone into teaching after my certifications, I'd be proud to have influenced young lives over that many years. Looking back, a few exceptional teachers made a huge difference.
Congratulations!
Someday, here on the MRF, someone will post the question, "Who's still working?"

Congrats!
I'm wondering how you went from teaching high school to teaching college. Did you already have the expertise, or did you need to go back to school yourself?
