My heart is broken - an old friend is gone

Hello friends,

Between last week and this, my old man kitty Romeo's health took a nose-dive. We realized too late that he was suffering from feline congestive heart failure, and by this afternoon he was in significant distress.

We discussed the options with a trusted vet friend, and came to the sad conclusion that it was time to let the old man go. My heart is broken - he's been an amazing friend and companion for over 13 years.

He left us peacefully at home tonight at 7 p.m.

Here are a couple of photos - the first shows his incredible fluffliness and volume; the second is from a moment this afternoon between fits. I miss him so already.

I'm sorry for your loss. Our kitties left us a few years ago and we still think about them. Remember the wonderful times that you had with Romeo. One of ours was just as fluffy!

man, it's tough. animals only have their eyes to communicate with us, although sometimes that is enough.
