iOS AutoFocus Lock
#1
I've been messing around with a smartphone mount on my air rifle to record through the scope, but I was having trouble getting it to focus correctly. I knew that you could tap the screen to get it to focus on a certain area, but I just learned that if you tap and hold on that area the phone will lock the focus and hold it. Very hand when trying to look through rifle scopes. This is probably old news to everyone else, but I thought it was a great trick. Works in photo and video modes.

I think I'm going to try using it on a spotting scope too. It works well enough on the rifle, but it gets a bad case of shaky-camitis when the trigger is pulled.

This is a bit more powerful than the Daisy Red Rider Carbine with the compass in the stock. But yes, Safety Glasses are a must.

Thanks, I didn't know that!

some of the iOS features are hidden, you usually find them by accident or from other people. Remember when software used to come with manuals? either printer or PDF is fine with me. But iOS? there is no manual. or if it is, it is hidden somewhere too, LOL.

I tested on the spotting scope while home on my lunch and it worked really well. I should be able to see the tatoo on a fly's behind from 25m.

But iOS? there is no manual.

Hardly hidden, but not immediately convenient.

Put it on your iDevice or Mac, and it will be.
