I had a friend encounter the "nearly a brick" issue with the update, but he had skipped iOS 8 altogether on his 5S, as I recall. Went directly from 7.something to 9.0.
I've installed 9.0 on seven different iPhones (5S and 5c models) and iPads (iPad 2 up to latest Air, incl a couple of minis) and didn't encounter a single problem with any of them.

Hopefully this one won't cause any problems when used with iTunes 11.4.

If anybody is running it, I’d be curious to know if they fixed the security hole that lets people use Siri to get past your passcode and into your contacts and photos. http://bgr.com/2015/09/23/ios-9-security...acts-siri/

Besides the security fix. Did they do anything about the voice dialog box that covers the texting area?
