imac core 2 duo worth $200 more vs core duo?

Is the new core 2 duo imac worth the $200 more vs buying a refurb core duo?

1.83 vs 2.0 GHz
512 ram vs 1 gig

ok actually it is $178 difference if I buy at the Government store.

Running at the same clock speed, the Core 2 Duo should be noticably faster than the Core Duo. So I think the 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo should be significantly faster than the 1.83GHz Core Duo.

Well worth the small difference in price IMO: get the new one! I wish Apple dropped the price on the old models a little more drastically, but they never seem to do that.

I'd get the new one. It seems like I read it runs a lot cooler too, which for the iMac might be good. kj.

Core 2 Duo is 64 bit too, that is worth a bit on its own.
