A few years ago a co-worker had to be rushed to the hospital. While there he engagement ring was accidentally tossed in the garbage.

Since it was not in the biological or hazardous waste receptacle, the hospital allowed our staff of 12 to dig through the dumpster until we found it (and we did). It was not a pleasant task to start with, being late summer in Florida only made it that much better.

It may not be an attractive ring to everybody; it only has to mean something to and please one person.

I'm not a ring guy and this doesn't appeal to me (very few do, and I can't think of one at the moment) but I'm glad she got it back.

Even with diverting the truck, the odds were not good.

And I really, really have to learn not to read the Comments at news sites.

They bring out the worst in some people.

I enjoyed reading the comments! I liked that someone was nice enough to correct the reporter about the reward being $400, not $500.
