Unless I'm missing something, they're quote is about 1/2 of what I pay to Farmer's every six months for similar coverage including comprehensive and collision.

Don't have Progressive on my car, but I have it on my motorcycles and on my RV. Had a brand new RV totaled when an 18-wheeler smacked it with only 1,700 miles on the odometer. Progressive had the check in the mail before I got back home and I had a full replacement policy written on it. Got another new RV, insured it with Progressive and my rates actually declined a bit for being a repeat customer. My motorcycle policy and my current RV policy have both declined over the years. As far as I'm concerned, Progressive is great coverage on my recreational toys.
BTW, I had Farmer's on my car and home but they dropped me when they got in a snit over a homeowner who wanted their black mold problem in their home covered. Farmer's cancelled all policies in Texas and got out of the State for a few years, but I see they're back now trying to drum up business. I'd never go back with them because of the way they handled me and other policy holders here.

I don't know about their insurance, but the
Flo commercials are great.

Not a fan. Was a customer a decade or so ago. They threw money at a bogus claim without so much as a cursory investigation and then quadrupled my rates.

I had them about 20 years ago, they gave me grief after a minor incident (I backed into a pole). It was enough to send me looking for alternatives. Auto-Owners beat their rates and has every time since when I checked. I had to use A-O when my son totaled our (wait for it) 2004 Element. It was a painless claim and they paid about 4k over book value for our car.

IIRC, they will give you a good rate if you: have great credit and a reliable job, live in the right zip code, have the right college degrees, have no accidents and continuous insurance for the last seven years.

Been with them since 2007. One accident claim, one totaled car claim, one road assistance claim. Expected my rates to go up on the first two but it didn't happen. Claims process is pretty easy. Got a quote from Costco (Ameriprise) at my last renewal but they couldn't beat Progressive. So I'm sticking with Flo.
(The same cannot be said for Progressive Homeowners Insurance. Our one claim was a six month nightmare, and I ditched them last year. But the homeowners insurance is Progressive in name only, and not the same operation as the auto.)

Another vote for Progressive. I've been with them over 10 years, no problems. Two claims, all of our cars got hit pretty hard in a bad hail storm and they wrote a check on the spot. The other was a hit and run that they wrote a check then gave me more when the quotes were coming in higher than theirs. Also, they deduct almost 100$ from my premium if I pay all at once instead of over time. Premiums have never gone up.

Nope, a happy Auto-Owners customer. But they just paid $800 for damage done to the left rear area when my son blew a tire (after we paid $1k deductible) so I shall see what happens when I get the next premium in September.

Don't want to turn this thread into a political debate, but wouldn't give 10 cents to the company.... owned by Peter Lewis. Google him.
