Here's a quick & small video of what I see in some – not all – Google Maps windows in Safari (9.1) on my MBP (Mavericks). Anyone know what it signifies? I have done "the google" and found zip – although I might be entering the wrong search terms (I tried "blue line bar OSX Safari google maps" in various combinations – mostly leads to iOS related stuff). TIA!

Maybe it is still updating your location. Does it do the same when you Show Toolbar in Safari. How about in Firefox?

I'm at home, a location I access GMs from quite frequently. And my home address is in my Google Maps prefs (and the default map ). Happens whether the toolbar is shown or not. I'll try to take note of when exactly this line appears and under what circumstances. I'm in GMs now, entering destinations & getting directions, trying to make it show up, without success.

I see the video just fine, I don't think I saw that blue line before, and we use Safari and Firefor on our machines.
Edit: we also use Mavericks. I will pay attention to see if the line shows up in Safari.

It's an activity indicator displayed while the map elements finish populating.

I'm not sure about that. I had the page sitting there for a few minutes, the map seemed to have loaded in completely – nothing looked missing anyway. Yet the line was still going.
Now I am trying everything to make it re-appear, no dice!
