Yard pix from last weekend...
#1
Had to get to work on the yard. Weather was perfect; finally warming up and lots of sun. I'm starting with this image I call "color madness" and it is a really busy pic. We've had the wisteria, lilac, and viburnum flowering, and a plant we weren't aware we had starting to bloom! Also, the sunlight/shadow component making the image even more busy, plus the red of the maple!

Here is a closeup of the plant we don't know what it is. A little help?

In our back property amongst our fruit trees we have some apricots growing. Here are a small clump but the tree has quite a few apricots on it:

Also, we had a lot of new trilliums but this was still the best show. But they've run their course and are beginning to fade:

I posted a little bit back of our wren and since then he's been very vocal. I've learned that the male House Wren will build up to three nests, then wait for a female to hear his calls. She will then inspect the nests and if she likes one, will then stick around and get the family going!
So here's the male near the nest he has apparently made in our birdhouse:

After getting the yard work done, I grabbed a beer and sat down in wait of seeing if anything is happening at the house. I heard the male nearby and as I had the SX50 aimed I got this:

The male was still singing so this must be a female that has been checking out the nest. Then later I got this shot but I don't know if it's the female looking at a again-males and females look virtually the same-or the male wondering if he needs to change the furniture for her...

But, there seems to be a pairing so he did something right! Now we'll see if we get a brood.

I'll finish with another pic of the color of the corner here in our yard. Thx for looking in...

Love that last pic! The sunlight through the leaves is a nice touch.

You ain't kidding! Gets even worse when they have little ones...

billb-you may be right but it's about 8 feet high. Do they grow that large? All of ours in the flower garden out front are just three or four feet tall and are wider than tall.

The unidentified plant... Looks like a bird cherry of some sort, Prunus padus

Bird (cherry) is the word.

I have one that is taller than me.

Well had, I guess. It didn't leaf out this spring and appears to be pining for the fjords.
