This is a national, non political party group I support. I have heard these young people speak and they make you feel like "what did I do with my life". Neither Democrat or Republican they are learning what government and governing is.

Teen Pact is highly political. They are training future social conservatives to bring a strong Christian influence over government, something understood as a Republican value at this point. I understand that most of the participants are home-schooled and as far I can see, they're all white. I think there is an LDS connection.

Mission Statement

TeenPact was founded with a mission to train youth to understand the political process, value their liberty, defend the Christian faith, and engage the culture at a time in their lives when, typically, they do not care about such things. This remains our mission today.

So, I'm all for leadership development but the problem with this sort of education is that it only presents one point of view and leaves no opportunity for the student to develop his or her own attitudes, values and opinions about government.

I love Model UN for youth leadership training.

I would be all for it if it wasn't a religious organization funneling 'believers' into public service to forward their own goals.

Yeah... I remember the John Birch society picketing our Model UN one year. But the program was awesome.

(I was Uganda one year.... I was recalled and tortured and eaten by Idi Amin..)
