....finally got Netflix and catching up on original series...

'Daredevil [ Season 1 was better, Season 2 was slow and repetitive. pacing seemed off ]

'Jessica Jones' [ slow moving, should have condensed into fewer episodes. again, pacing seemed off ]

'Sense8' [ really enjoyed, 3 dimensional characters, interesting storylines. 2nd season starts on X-mas ]

'Stranger Things' [ good so far. haven't finished. did y'all get the X-Men #134 reference/foreshadowing? ]

Marvel’s ‘Luke Cage’ Trailer: Luke Takes It To The Streets

.....Netflix has dropped the second trailer for its anticipated original series Marvel’s Luke Cage ahead of its September 30 debut.

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

Mike Colter stars as Luke Cage. Cast also includes Ali (Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes), Alfre Woodard (Mariah Dillard), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Theo Rossi (Shades), Frank Whaley (Rafael Scarfe) and Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple).

Marvel’s Luke Cage is the third show in the Defenders series to launch on Netflix. It follows Marvel’s Daredevil and Marvel’s Jessica Jones, leading up to the future release of Marvel’s Iron Fist, and ultimately, Marvel’s The Defenders.

Marvel’s Luke Cage is executive produced by showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker, Charles Murray and Jeph Loeb, who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.

Daredevil was great - though I'd expect it was better for us old timers who'd read the Frank Miller run back in the 70s-80s.

Jessica Jones had me on the edge of my seat. No need for faster pacing. (grumble grumble kids today)

I couldn't get past the first 20 minutes of Sense8 despite the exhortations of my friends.

Ditto comments on both Daredevil and Jessica Jones. And D'Onofrio just kills it (literally, eh?) as Kingpin. He's spot-on perfect.

Jessica Jones caught me off-guard. I didn't have much knowledge of the character, but fell hard for it. Agreed; pacing is perfect. It's one of the reasons I love these characters on short-run seasons rather than weekly or movies. It makes for better storytelling.

Really looking forward to this: link. A lot of clues in the trailer. Exciting time to be an old-school comic book fan.

Had to sit through several episodes before it felt worthwhile. Good show if you can make it through.
