Memory Foam Mattress Deals??
#1
My GF has has difficulty sleeping on my mattress and I'm looking for deals on Memory Foam Mattress pads. Overstock has a 4" model for $199 and there's a $15 coupon off of that. Are there any better deals on comparable foam pads that I should know about??

TIA,
Prof

I got my 2 or 2/12 " from Wal-Mart for like $60 something.

Sam's had a 3 or 4 inch for $120 I think.

I like mine just fine. But, I don't like it that they trap heat so much - in the summer time.

I bought mine at Costco, queensize $110.00, I believe it is 3 inches thick.

I bought the 2" deluxe one from Overstock for both myself and my daughter. I don't think you need more than 2" unless you weigh more than 250 pounds.

Or, there are times when a particular side of the mattress will 'double' in weight. Wink

what is the deal with these mattress topper things? do they really make a significant difference?

i think i need a new mattress. visually it's in good shape but my body is not rested when i wake up. consumer reports says if you're over 40 and your mattress is over 10, it's time for a new one. i meet both parameters.

but i can't afford what seems to be the going price for new ones so i've been wondering about these toppers.

what might a foam topper do for me?

For us, it has delayed our much-pricier purchase of a whole new mattress. Very budget minded. Sounds like it's right up your alley.

stevejobs,

you said you like yours; why?

i know it might be hard to describe beyond "it's more comfortable" but i was wondering if you could be more specific. are you sleeping sounder? are your bones less creaky when you awake?

My mattress is SO BAD that I could feel the a few of the metal springs a lot more than I'd like. The pad has eliminated that feeling.

But, it does get hotter in the summer, for me.

I sleep a little better. I really need more space, though. But, that's another issue.

The difference for me was not waking up with my back and hips aching. Prior to the foam pad If I tried to sleep more than 7 to 8 hours my lower back and hips would ache and I would have to get up, with the foam pad I am able to stay in bed and sleep longer.
