These are G R E A T (tu) for Dual Core G5's, Quads, Mac Pros, anything with the humungeous power supply/power requirements. I've been using one on my Dual Core G5 for almost 8 months, and have had PLENTY of opportunities to test out its abilities.><

I'm simply using the OS X Tiger Energy Saver Preferences, set to "Shut down computer when there's 4 minutes or less runtime" etc and it's worked flawlessly during several major outages here in Newbury Park this summer.

I paid $119 shipped from Buy.com on sale earlier this year. There isn't another 1500VA UPS with 8 battery/AVS/Surge protected outlets made. This is the best there is IMO. No fan to break down the road, no noise, great ergonomics (thin, light [24 lbs.}, svelte black)...it's a winnah!(

Don't let the Belkin brand fool you, if you're a skeptic: this is a heavy duty, quality unit. Puts my APC 1500VA to shame. 3 years warranty, $200K damage warranty. What can I say?B)-

I've had too many problems with Belkin UPSs. I'd avoid them unless it's a truly super deal. $139 shipped isn't super enough to justify buying another UPS from Belkin.

To a one, every owner who reviewed the F6C-1500-TW-RK just raved about them. Especially xlnt is the 1000 Joules surge rating, where the APC 1500VA unit is rated at only 410 Joules. And my APC has twin cooling fans, weighs 7 pounds more, and looks old-fashioned compared to the Belkin. 8-)

Apples to apples, I respectfully disagree about this particular Belkin UPS. It's simply better all-around than the much more expensive APC brand competition. When the battery goes down on my APC I'll get another Belkin F6C-1500-TW-RK. If APC comes out with a better UPS than this one I'll consider it, but right now the Belkin is hands-down a better buy, choice, and performer.B)-
