I used to be a heavy Handspring Visor Platinum user back in the olden days, but spotty Mac OS X support led me to shelve the device and I switched to those little black Moleskine books to write down my hours and work notes and the like. Problem is, it's so inconvenient to search back in my books for notes that it's not a very useful repository of information, and going through all the pages to add up my hours at the end of the month is an exercise in tedium.
What i've really been holding out for is a smartphone that I can get behind. Not a big fan of the Treos (my girlfriend's Treo 650 is sometimes flaky, plus it's pretty bulky compared to my current phone), can't stand Windows Mobile, and haven't seen a really compelling Symbian device quite yet. So I decided to buy a client's Palm Tungsten T3 on the cheap to tide me over.
Thankfully a few of my key apps are supposed to play nice with Palms. SOHO Notes is a big one for me; if its Palm support works well, it will make my work a lot easier. Documents To Go is going to be a nice thing to have again, and should work better with the higher-resolution screen and faster processor on the T3.
I guess I'm not looking for any specific feedback about more current Palms; more like how people sync their more current Palms (iSync? The Missing Sync? Or still sticking with th old crufty Palm Desktop?), what kinds of third party Palm apps you like, &c. &c.
