John Wetton, Singer/Bassist for King Crimson and Asia, Dies at 67

John Wetton, singer/bassist and veteran of multiple famed prog-rock outfits, died today (Jan. 31) in his sleep, with the cause of death being widely reported as colon cancer. He was 67.

Wetton was really good in a rather different way than a lot of the bands he played with were used to. A good bassist, but not busy, a good singer, but not a tenor. Expressive, but in a decidedly masculine way. I'm sure a lot of people are unhappy tonight, RIP.

Seen him live with various bands and the 'supergroup', UK in 78 or 79? (which was one of 'those' shows you never forget) and loved the dude..wow, very young.
