Small sized Blu-Ray player?
#1
Is there such a thing-a BR player that's the size of a Super Drive external CD/DVD? I wouldn't need it to write, just read is fine.

My son has an old PlayStation 3 that is reasonably small and does Blu-Ray.

Try connecting that to your Mac.

I'm confused - you want a BD drive to read data from discs to your computer, not a standalone player with HDMI for your TV that fits in a small space in your media center? Why would you want that and not the slightly higher cost of being able to record to BD media as well?

Uh, yes, I misread the OP and thought DP wanted to connect to a TV.

Perhaps just to rip Blu-Ray movies? Few people have a need or desire to burn Blu-Ray discs.

I already have a BR player for our TV. We don't have TV at our cottage Up North, and my wife has watched movies on her 15" MBP there. A lot of movies are BR and the 15" is a bit small. We'll take my iMac to watch BR movies there. A small unit will save some room. I'm also thinking about it-just wanted to know what options were out there.
