Even a couple of small sticks -- 1 GB or 2 GB.

Not really looking to spend anything, if you have it sitting in a drawer and thinking about tossing it, toss my way instead. =)

I can get 4 GB (2 x 2) for $20 new...

I have an 8GB kit (2 X 4GB sticks) awaiting install into similar vintage Mini. If/when we get around to upgrade, you're welcome to OEM 2GB sticks once the upgrade has proven itself stable. Have another Mini that was upgraded years ago, but one of its OEM 2GB sticks failed. 4GB Mini hasn't been doing any heavy lifting, so (obviously) haven't been in a hurry to to finish upgrade(s). Now thinking about going in to put in a hand-me-down SSD, so that would be the time to also do the RAM swap.

I am getting ready to order a pair of 4s, and was going to offer you my pair of 2s.

Sometimes these things happen here. The other scenario is someone asks for something, and someone else mentions they recycled one last week. And so it goes!
