iPhoto can no longer share to iCloud albums
#1
A few days ago I noticed iPhoto could no longer post pictures to iCloud albums. I tried restarting iPhoto and restarting my computer but it still didn't work. Then I checked the console and there were no errors with the word "iPhoto" in them. I did see a LOT of errors trying to connect to IP's belonging to Amazon AWS but I am not sure if that is related to my problem or not. Next I went to a 2nd computer and tried to post to an iCloud album and it also failed. Could someone else try this and let me know if it's just me or everyone?

Wish I could help. All I know is iCloud, etc. is a mess.

It may be an OS/iPhoto problem. If it has not happened already, you will eventually need Photos to interact with iCloud. iPhoto is no longer supported, I believe.

I have not converted to Photos, and will not buy iCloud space for storing pictures. I just keep a set of backup iPhoto libraries on a thumb drive that I take with me (if necessary). At home I use a 2006 iMac that can run El Capitan nicely.

How do you get a 2006 iMac to run MacOS 10.11? They are supposed to top out at 10.7.5

My in-laws emailed me today saying their iPhoto could not access a recently published iCloud album. I think Apple must have flipped a switch and turned off access.

I thought I would give Photos a go and unbelievably I can't publish pictures to iCloud albums from Photos either! I checked the console and I see "The application is not permitted to access iCloud accounts". It just isn't my day!
