Drove to Missouri for the Eclipse and made a couple of quick separate exposures and then put the camera away to take this in.. one exposure for sky and land and a second image exposed for the moon/sun/corona,,no filtration.. One exposure couldn't come close to holding detail across the range and describing this scene as it was...did this with my trusty and killer Sony DX100 MkII..the wide end of the lens barely covered the sweep but it's fine
Did a comp last night in PS keeping the scale honest in terms of the sun moon size (had a test shot with a blown out sun/moon for sizing comparison).anyhow, tried to be accurate to memory of the thing and show what it looked like for us standing there...in total and submissive awe.
This a was an incredibly moving experience that needs to be, um, experienced..words and photos..no possible way to describe it..incredibly moving, transforming thing..tears of joy is all i can say//Plus the camaraderie on the dirt road we were on with other people parked by the ditch..very connective thing with these folks who, like us, drove in from all over to be under the shadow of the moon...im different because of this, first time witnessing a total eclipse and im gonna be blown away for the duration..
