HONOLULU (WCMH) — Multiple people on Twitter have reported seeing an emergency alert about a ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii. The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency says there is no threat.

The phone alert urged residents to take shelter, reading: “BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”

Many people on social media were concerned and worried. The Hawaii EMA sent a Tweet at 9:20am local time, saying the threat is not valid.

Hawaii congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard said she confirmed there was no missile with officials.

It's like when I texted my buddy, Freddy, and said "HI Barbara..i was wondering..." And Freddy was all.. ""I'm Barbara??" And I said, "Of course you are"..and then he said his whole life had been a complete sham and that he was crying now and "thanks!"

ABC Nightly News showed the same two second clip of people running towards a mall entrance in Hawaii no fewer than 14 times. Talk about Mickey Mouse coverage!
