A would-be photographer lost his drone while attempting a flyover of the Apple Park campus last weekend. After he lost control of the unmanned aerial vehicle, it crashed onto the solar panel-covered roof of Apple’s new circular headquarters.

Check out the Apple Park drone crash footage below. https://youtu.be/h7NFnJDcb50

“I was happy to oblige, so I took a Phantom 4 Pro out and began searching for it,” Roberts notes. “It was eventually located on the solar roof and appeared to be intact for the most part.”
He notes that the drone operator notified Apple of the crash. It remains to be seen whether Apple will send the crashed drone back to its owner. (Our money would be on “hell no, it won’t.”) Nonetheless, the footage is available online to serve as a warning to others attempting the same thing.

you know they shot it down with an iPhoneX-controlled laser, don't you?

They spent all their R&D money on it. That's why the ancient MacPros and Minis.

Maybe if the put a "designated helipad landing zone" in the middle of the ring it could be classified as a no fly zone.

I would send a rescue drone to retrieve it.

Aren't there drones crashing into walls and doors inside, also?

If I were a trained pilot, I'd take exception to drone owners being referred to as pilots. Just sayin'.

FYI, drones don't have pilots, they are autonomous and unmanned. Remotely operated vehicles have pilots/operators.

Not that modern society cares about accuracy or the precise use of the English language.

drones can be programed to follow a mission or set of courses, completely hands off. Period.

I worked for a company that makes drones for the military.

Perhaps they should charge him for loss of income from the amount of sun the drone ROV is blocking.
