I am using the 1.07 version and it is iffy. I am of newer versions because the version I have cannot really transfer bookmarks and I do not want to loose the bookmark toolbar. I just cannot survive loss of boomarks.
Firefox daily force quit. I am looking at probably two more.

1. Export your Bookmarks to the Desktop.
2. Upgrade. 3. If it does not transfer your bookmarks, just import them from the file Easy as pie! ![]()

Is it going to transfer my bookmark toolbar? Is it going to have two versions so I can back off?

mint, you're probably the type of person that spends 45 minutes trying to get into the tub complaining that it is too hot or too cold the whole time. Just do the upgrade and pick up the pieces. Make sure that you export the bookmarks first. As long as you have the bookmarks file, you can always get them back later. You could even go so far as importing them into Safari or Opera for added protection before you upgrade. Opera will do it automatically, not sure about Safari.
1.07 is about 2 years behind the current version. I found that it had lots of problems with certain java scripts and flash based ads. I dumped Yahoo as my home page because their ads crashed FF 1.07 every time I opened the browser. 2.0 seems to have fixed all that.

The bookmark tool bar is included in the bookmark backup file. There is a folder called "Toolbar Bookmarks" (or something like that) that includes everything from your toolbar bookmarks. Worst case scenario is that when you import the bookmarks to the new version of FF (if it mysteriously doesn't do it automatically) you'll just need to drag the book marks back to the tool bar. I've seen some rare instances where the import creates 2 folders called Toolbar bookmarks. If this happens just open select manage bookmarks and move the bookmarks to the other "Toolbar Bookmarks" folder. The odds of you losing the bookmarks are nearly nil. I'll concede that they may be misplaced or not land on the toolbar where they belong, but I'm 99.9% certain that they will still be available inside the bookmarks menu after you import them. At anyrate you should export the bookmarks anyway if they are that important. Having the all-important bookmarks trapped in an admittedly aging flaky application doesn't sound wise.

Not enough assurance that my bookmarks are going to disappear into Internet hell. Staying with the old version, I am actually sorry.I switched from IE. I had to go from IE to Netscape to Camino to Firefox and it has not ever been complete. Scary stuff.

All this talk about Firefox prompted me to check my version number. I was using 1.5.? and just did a download and update to 2.0. It was totally and completely painless; it automatically imported every one of my bookmarks, and my bookmark toolbar displays all the important stuff, including Macresource and the link to MyWay, from which, by the way, I still cannot get animal pics.
