Equal opportunity hater:
"In a decision issued on June 28 — less than a month after the Supreme Court ruled in Phillips’ favor in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission — the commission found probable cause that Phillips had discriminated against Autumn Scardina by refusing to make a cake celebrating, in her words, “the 7th year anniversary of my transition from male to female.”
The refusal, the commission said, was based on Scardina's transgender status, adding, "A claim of discriminatory denial of full and equal enjoyment of a place of public accommodation has been established.”
The commission then went on to cite part of the Supreme Court’s June 4 Masterpiece ruling to back up the commission’s decision against Phillips: “As asserted by the Supreme Court, ‘It is unexceptional that Colorado law can protect gay persons, just as it can protect other classes of individuals, in acquiring whatever products and services they choose on the same terms and conditions are offered to other members of the public.’”

Is this the only baker in the county, or was someone looking to file a lawsuit?
I'm sorry, but I think this is stupid. There are far more serious issues for transgendered people than the fact that an ahole bigot won't bake a cake for them. This guy is going to have every person seeking a fight, a lawsuit, or a chance to punch him out coming through his door.

It's almost like this is a R setup, wouldn'tcha think? Gee, maybe this could be the headlines leading into the midterm elections. Gun meet foot.

I gather this is more about doing the legal spade work to build legal precedents to protect rights and fight discrimination on broader basis than the particulars of just this case. The ruling in his favor was very narrowly defined and not definitive on the larger issues involved, so further litigation was inevitable.
There are more than enough people willing and able to do the grunt work needed to continue the fight to protect rights and guard against bias. There are always multiple fronts to be manned, some may seem less important than others, but are still part of the overarching fabric being created.

Well, it got so that every piss-ant prairie punk who thought he could shoot a gun would ride into town to try out the Waco Kid. I must have killed more men than Cecil B. DeMille. It got pretty gritty. I started to hear the word "draw" in my sleep. Then one day, I was just walking down the street when I heard a voice behind me say, "Reach for it, mister!" I spun around... and there I was, face to face with a six-year old kid. Well, I just threw my guns down and walked away.
Little bastard shot me in the ass.

I have to respectfully disagree. How could anyone know the full portfolio of people this guy hates? Public accommodation is an important civil right; nobody should have to drive around town wondering which merchants are bigoted and won't serve them.
If Mr. Phillips continues to violate state law, he should be held accountable. Make an example of him, if that's what it takes. If people provoke him, them so be it. He put himself in that position.

Blacks should drive around town until they find a restaurant who will serve them. Don’t they have better things to do, than to hassle with every stupid bigot?

IMHO, a business license granted by the state implies that you agree to provide products and/or services to the PUBLIC. Not "The public that agree with me". It's a civil rights test case, and is welcome.
"We don't serve your kind here..."
